A Hollywood Foreign Press Association está anunciando os indicados para o Globo de Ouro de 2021. As indicações vêm depois do normal neste ciclo de premiação, pois a janela para indicados foi expandida como parte de um esforço maior para se adaptar às formas como a pandemia mudou as normas da indústria. A cerimônia está marcada para ir ao ar em 28 de fevereiro e será a primeira grande cerimônia de premiação do ciclo de 2021. O Oscar foi adiado para 25 de abril, deixando espaço para o Globo de Ouro assumir a liderança no ciclo deste ano.
Apesar da quantidade limitada de lançamentos em 2020, existem alguns filmes e programas a serem procurados. É mais do que provável que streamers como Netflix e Amazon liderarão as indicações na televisão com uma infinidade de conteúdo para escolher, incluindo Ozark, The Crown e The Queen’s Gambit . A Amazon também espera chegar lá com The Boys , sua série original mais popular até hoje. Do lado do filme, todos os olhos estarão em Chloe Zhao para ver se seu sucesso de festival Nomadland chega às categorias principais.
